Dr. Yen Adams Sokama-Neuyam is the Research Lead and Principal Investigator (PI) at NCEL. He is a faculty member at the Department of Petroleum Engineering with experience and expertise in research project management, GHG emission assessment, Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS), Geological Hydrogen Storage (GHS), analytical and numerical modelling and machine-learning based process optimization.
He is also the PI of the funded Oil-Well Biocement project at the Department of Petroleum Engineering and Co-PI of the funded Silica Xerogel Project at the Department of Chemical Engineering, KNUST. Dr. Sokama-Neuyam holds a PhD and MSc in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Stavanger, Norway, where he has also worked as an Assistant Professor in Natural Gas Engineering prior to his current position.

Dr. William Ampomah is the Co-principal Investigator (Co-PI) at NCEL. Dr. Ampomah is a faculty member at the Department of Petroleum Engineering, KNUST. He is also an Assistant Professor of Petroleum Engineering at New Mexico Tech, Socorro, United States, and the Section Head of Reservoir Evaluation and Advanced Computational Technologies (REACT) group at the Petroleum Recovery Research Center (PRRC) at New Mexico Tech.
He has been the PI and Co-PI of at least five (5) United States Department of Energy grants in relation to Improved Oil Recovery, CO2 Storage, Wellbore Integrity and Subsurface stress. Dr. Ampomah holds a PhD and MS degrees in Petroleum Engineering at New Mexico Tech, USA.
